Agra, Taj Mahal 泰姬瑪哈陵

In the morning, we left for Agra which is a major tourist destination because of its many splendid Mughal-era buildings, most notably the Tāj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpūr Sikrī, all three of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The Taj Mahal is a white marble mausoleum built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal and is widely recognized as "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage". 午餐後，前往參觀雄偉壯觀的世界七大奇景之一的泰姬瑪哈陵，此陵由二萬工人費時22年才完成，是蒙兀兒帝國沙加罕王, 紀念其愛妃1632年動工興建的。鑲滿寶石的白色大理石建築，敘述著世界上偉大的愛情故事。泰姬瑪哈陵在早中晚所呈現出的面貌各不相同，早上是燦爛的金色，白天的陽光下是耀眼的白色，斜陽夕照下，白色的泰姬瑪哈陵從灰黃、金黃，逐漸變成粉紅、暗紅、淡青色，而在月光下又成了銀白色，白色大理石映著淡淡的藍色螢光，更給人一種恍若仙境的感覺。




Agra Fort is a monument about 2.5 km northwest of its more famous sister monument, the Taj Mahal. In his later years, Shah Jahan was deposed and restrained by his son, Aurangzeb, in this fort. It is rumored that Shah Jahan died in Muasamman Burj, a tower with a marble balcony with a view of the Taj Mahal. 隨後參觀橫跨閻摩納河畔的阿格拉紅堡，距離泰姬陵西北2.5公里，此城堡乃是阿克巴王於1565年動工興建，城內大多數建築物都是採用紅色砂岩建造而成，又稱為紅堡、據說沙伽罕王晚年被其三子囚禁於此堡內的八角形樓塔中，每日凝望著愛妃的陵寢直到撒手人寰。
