Plitvice National Park, Croatia 16湖國家公園

Plitvice National Park is the second largest park in Europe and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. With 16 terraced lakes forming numerous waterfalls, it is also called "16 Lakes National Park". The lakes are separated into an upper and lower cluster formed by runoff from the mountains over a distance of some 8 km. The scenery of Lower Lakes is more delicate which contains the largest waterfall. The scenery of the Upper Lakes is wilder and spectacular, with lush woods, clean blue lakes and magnificent waterfalls.
Plitvice國家公園內有16座湖泊, 因不同高處之落差而形成無數天然瀑布，又有「16湖國家公園」的號稱, 被聯合國教科文組織列為世界遺產。下湖區的景緻以精巧秀麗著稱，湖區最長的瀑布正座落於此，高達78公尺，層層相接，瀑布水流激出的水花配上潺潺流動的河水，讓人不得感嘆造物者的偉大。上湖區景緻以壯麗磅礡著稱，有茂密的森林、清澈綻藍的湖泊以及湍急的瀑布，於峰巒疊綠之間，氣象萬千。走到峽谷高處，由上往下俯瞰，層層相接的大大小小湖泊一覽無遺。

People like to compare this place to China's 九寨溝 (Jiuzhaigou, literally: "Valley of Nine Fortified Villages"). Jiuzhaigou has much bigger area and much more water which is very spectacular, whereas Croatia national park is a very relaxing vacation destination.
